FAQ

CAMBODIA

  1. What is the group size on your tours?
The maximum will always be 18 people per group.

  2. What is the best time to travel?
Situated 14 degrees north of the equator, Cambodia has a tropical monsoon climate with the southwest monsoon (wet season) lasting from May to October bringing heavy tropical rains whilst the northwest monsoon (dry season) from November to April spreads dry weather and high temperatures throughout the country. These months, especially April, can be extremely hot with temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius and humidity levels maintaining a sticky 80-90%. Rainfall is highest between May and June, and September and October. The coldest month is January.
The best time to visit is during the cooler months of the dry season, although daytime temperatures can remain high, nights become much more tolerable with an average temperature of 22ºC. The air can be rather dusty during this period.

  3. What are the inclusions and exclusions of the packages?

  4. Will my South African plugs fit into overseas power points?
There is an electricity supply of 220 volts throughout Indochina, in the cities and most towns. 240-volt appliances will work safely with this supply. However, there is no universal power point, they vary not just from one country to the next but from one hotel to another. You can buy adaptors, also known as conversion plugs, from hardware, department and Duty free stores all over South Africa. In Cambodia, they generally use the round two-pin (Europe) plug, or the flat three-pin (U.K) plug.

  5. What types of meals are served on tour?
On our fully inclusive group tours, all meals are included on your tour for your convenience and enjoyment. Breakfast will be a buffet with a combination of local and western style food served in your hotels. Lunches & dinners are traditional banquet meals served in local restaurants or your hotels. Beverages are an additional cost and are readily available. The local beer is Angkor Beer, though the Singapore beers Tiger and Anchor are readily available. In a local shop a can of beer can be around USD0.45. In more expensive restaurants, a large bottle of beer can be up to 4USD each (1USD local shops). Siem Reap is generally more expensive than Phnom Penh for drinks and shopping. Bottles of spirits are very cheap.
For independent travel meals provided are listed in the itineraries.  Breakfast is provided in Cambodia as part of your room rate and hence will always be included.
