VIETNAM

Passengers travelling to the Sapa area in the cooler mountain ranges will need to bring slightly warmer clothing.

Drip dry and light clothes are recommended for your Vietnam holiday, as in most hotels only laundry service personnel have access to an iron and ironing board due to government regulations. The laundry service in most hotels takes 24 hours with the cost ranging between ZAR15 and ZAR35 per item.

Dress code throughout Vietnam is casual and comfortable. Smart casual clothes are recommended for evening banquets and shows. For travel involving overnight sleeper train journeys, an outfit of soft material such as a tracksuit is recommended as this is much more comfortable.

When visiting the HCM Mausoleum in Hanoi, everyone must wear trousers and shirts which cover their shoulders. For all other temples and shrines shorts are ok as long as they are respectable. Cotton is the most comfortable material in these climate conditions. Extra shirts are readily available to purchase from ZAR20 - ZAR 40 to supplement your packed clothing.
