Areas such as the French colonial beachside towns of Kep and Sihanoukville and nearby Kampot, the hill station Kompong Trach and Battambang, located in the north-west, are all highlights of this tour. TOUR ITINERARYDays 1-2: South Africa to Phnom Penh Day 3: Phnom Penh Today visit the Silver Pagoda, the Emerald Buddha and the National Museum. After lunch visit the emotional Killing Fields, return to the city to see Tuol Sleng Museum. Enjoy a sunset cruise on the Mekong River. Day 4: Phnom Penh to Kep Head south to the colonial beach town of Kep, visiting Tonle Bati and Phnom Chisor en route to see the ancient temples. The afternoon is at leisure. Day 5: Kep to Sihanoukville via Kampot Drive to the provincial capital, Kampot. After strolling along its quiet the streets continue to Kompong Trach, visiting limestone caves and passages left from the Khmer Rouge. After enjoying our packed lunch continue to Sihanoukville. Days 6-7: Sihanoukville to Phnom Penh Relax in this beautiful seaside town before returning to Phnom Penh tomorrow, via Kirirom National Park. Days 8-9: Phnom Penh to Battambang Head north to Battambang stopping at Oudong the 17th Century capital city of Cambodia and Kompong Chhnang, to view traditional handmade pottery en route. Tomorrow travel 8km on a local Bamboo train before visiting local villages and 'La Maison de Coco', travel by tuk-tuk to the city centre with its beautiful houses dating from colonial times. After lunch drive to Phnom Bannon Hill and climb the 337 steps to enjoy the view from the 12th Century Prasat Bannon Temple before returning to Battambang. Day 10: Battambang to Siem Reap August to February - High water season Depart Battambang Travel by private speedboat down Stung Sangkèr River to Tonle Sap, disembark at a fishing village and drive the short distance to Siem Reap. From March to July - Low water season Leave Battambang and Drive back to Siem Reap, stopping en route at the National Silk Centre, in the Puok district. Upon arrival at Siem Reap. The afternoon is at leisure. Day 11: Siem Reap – Bayon and Angkor Wat Tour today includes the fortified city of Angkor Thom and ‘The Bayon’ decorated with extraordinary bas-reliefs incorporating over 11,000 figures, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and the magnificent Angkor Wat. Days 12-13: Siem Reap - Temples Over the next two day visit Banteay Srei, a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva and Banteay Samre. Continue to Preah Khan and Neak Pean and the fabulous Ta Prohm Temple. Climb to the summit of Pre Rup Temple to watch the sunset and enjoy an evening Apsra Dance show. Day 14: Depart Siem Reap Enjoy the day at leisure before we transfer to the international airport and board our overnight flight to South Africa. Day 15: Arrive South Africa Arrive home this the following morning.
